TechMate (initially known as Addington.net) opened in November 2001. Our stated purpose is to provide affordable access to information and communication technologies.

TechMate is a community organisation based in Christchurch. We grow digital inclusion in our community with the help of our dedicated volunteers and board members. We are funded through the generosity of a number of local community organisations and sponsors. Over the past twenty years, TechMate has enabled many people to use and enter the digital world.
